Last weekend was not the greatest. We did all kinds of fun things- swimming with friends, played games both Friday & Saturday night, a little shopping, went to church, Grandma & Grandpa's and even played with Grandma Boston on the computer camera.
But, in between all of the fun, Jack spit up whole feedings twice, threw a couple nap time fits and of course the GRAND 1 1/2 hour bedtime fit Sunday night (which is VERY uncharacteristic of him. It was sad.) So, Monday we called the day off and stayed home from school.
So, today was like our Monday. Kind of dragging, wish I could take another couple of days off, but it was an ok day. PLUS, the photographer was at school to bring our school pictures we had taken a couple weeks ago. It made the whole day worthwhile!

Our Weekend Away (Green Bay, WI)
I have lived in WI my whole life (except for the 3 years I was away at college) and I have NEVER been to the Packer's Stadium! I know I went to a jazz band camp when I was in High School, but otherwise had never really been to Green Bay. Not that there is a lot to do, but it's worth a trip-especially when it is only 2 hours away.
We drove up Saturday morning, got to see the stadium via VIP tour (Everyone gets the same tour, but you feel pretty fancy when you're sitting up in one of their best suites, and get to go through the Packer's tunnel!)
Trevin & Jack awaiting the big event! (The whole tour was stroller accessible. I figured we'd have to carry Jack in our Bjorn, so I was grateful to not have to carry around the extra 18+ lbs.)
Dan walking through the tunnel, this was a highlight. He was like a little boy. (The tour guide joked about men crying as they went through- Dan said he might so I had an eye, & the camera, on him the whole way!)
The stadium!
Dan & Dan behind the end zone!
This is from the Packer's Hall of Fame. They had a little kid area- it's a good thing we have kids to take part in the fun!
One happy family! Check out Jack's Packer Suit from Grandma Diane! He was a big hit!
Jack trying to eat the grill in the kid's play area! They had everything you would need for tailgating, but kid size!
***Maybe I'm lame, but I would highly recommend taking the ride and doing the tour & hall of fame! It was great, could be a day trip or a weekend trip, but lots of fun either way!
(We did not go to Bay Beach because it was too cloudy, but it is an amusement park with like 25 cent rides- that would also be GREAT for families with young kids!)***
The best part about a weekend away is a night at a hotel. This is Jack's first hotel stay so it was very exciting for him to go swimming for the first time!
Jack all dressed in his swim clothes from his cousins Micah & Lauren.
And his new, sleeker, life jacket...
Dad & Jack ready for a trial run...
This video is from 10 minutes in-he was much happier here than originally.
Tara & I with the babies!
Jack finally having a good time, and of course the bath tub for a warmer swimming experience!
(We were supposed to go swimming like 3 Fridays ago-and every Friday since then- but we have had really cold/rainy Fridays. I was SO excited to finally have Jack wear his Nemo Swim Diaper and swim suit!)
Dan joked the other day that this is Jack's blog, and it is! But we love him and that is what our life revolves around. We wouldn't change a thing!

A Day Off...
Fridays are my day off! I sleep in (well until Jack wakes me up) and then Jack and I get to play. That is until our day begins...
Run some errands (Pick up mini-van for our weekend trip, target, grocery store)
Come home and get ready for the day
Lunch with friends
One last errand (Sam's club)
Pack for our weekend
Dinner at home (Rocky Rococo's Pizza)
Games with friends
That was the plan, until...
I'm driving home from target- I'm stopped at a red light and I get rear ended by the car behind me! I got out to check out what happened, the driver behind me starts asking me what he should do- he is 16 and just got his license. I told him we had to call the police.
Well we're in Milwaukee so we had to just pull over and exchange info. We pull into Walgreens, but he doesn't want anything on his record so he wouldn't give me his info. After talking to his dad, he decides to pull away. So- here I stand with a crying baby, a scratched bumper, and a license plate number & car make and model.
2 1/2 hours later the police report is filed. (While we waited, I called Jack's doctor, called my dad, called the shop... I was VERY productive. Jack was pretty happy too!) Luckily no one was hurt- I was a little sore, and Jack seemed just fine.
I decided we still deserved some fun for a Friday off and headed off to a very LATE lunch.
This is my favorite video to date- all after a very long morning. Jack is quite the trooper!
They tracked down the boy (& his dad) and they came into the police station the next day. Sounds like the car will get fixed and it will be all over!

And the fun continues...
We have been very busy...
Jack went for a Viper ride with Papa Russ.
After a busy couple of nights, Jack and I tagged along with Dan fishing on the boat. He did much better. He was a happy kid, even with the life jacket on... (that is until it was time to sleep and he couldn't figure out sleeping under the stars.)
Dan had to work, but Jack sported his BYU hat with Papa Russ at the ward picnic. It was a beautiful day!
Our first wagon ride.
And it looks like we are getting the hang of rice cereal. I think he is starting to like it.
(Both of these smiles are directed at Dan. I get the smiles in the morning, Dan gets them at night.)
Other exciting news... Jack is starting to sit up. Only 15-20 seconds at a time, but sitting. :)
We have been potty training-kind of. He seems to like pooping in his bouncer. He just pushes, grunts, and fills his pants. All 5 poops in the last week have been in his bouncer, now referred to as his "pooping chair."
And of course... our entertainment for the night. Enjoy!

A weekend of firsts...
Happy 4th of July!
We had a busy weekend. Friday night was Dan & my first date-night out, Grandma & Grandpa watched Jack so Dan and I could go see the movie The Proposal. I LOVED IT! Dan only liked it, but did not complain at all. It was really nice to go out and just relax. :)
Saturday Dan went fishing early, but met up with Jack and me for our first 4th of July Parade. Jack was pretty much in awe- just taking everything in. We especially enjoyed his reaction to the rifles shooting.
We had a cookout and then Jack went for his first boat ride on Grandpa Russ's Boat. This was not his favorite part of the day- I think it was the life jacket.
We anchored in a cove and the Dan's went swimming. I let Jack take off the life jacket- this is how happy he was then.
Maybe better next time. :) (He also got his first mosquito bite, I killed the bug but it smeared blood on baby Jack so I assume he got bit. However, it did not swell at all and he just has a little red dot where the mosquito was. Maybe he takes after his mom and isn't allergic to mosquito bites.)
And since we were all into trying new things, we decided to try rice cereal tonight. This is not the first bite (we have that on video too) but this video is much better.
I'm not quite sure if we will start it permanently, but Dr. Dan said that we could try it for entertainment if we wanted. :)

He started it...
It all began last Wednesday...
I put a really cute Doodle Bug shirt on Jack, that was Orange. We are not huge fans of orange but a student of mine had given it to Jack so we wear it. I must say- Jack is very cute in orange.
Well, Dan saw it and decided to put on his orange polo shirt for the night (he has one orange t-shirt and only wears it when he goes to get a haircut... this is a new shirt and so it was surprising to see him put it on. He also looks really good in orange.)
After the evening, he said how he was going to wear his orange polo on Sat. night when we hung out with some friends. I washed Jack's Doodle Bug shirt so he was ready too! Saturday night came and I went to put in on Jack and Dan was not thrilled. I guess he was just going to wear his orange shirt, but didn't necessarily want Jack to wear his too!
Somewhere between Wed (when I thought Dan liked to match Jack) and Saturday (when he didn't want to always match Jack) I went to Target and found a new shirt for Jack...
And this is the pattern of a new shirt Dan just got (the picture is dark, but the colors are the pretty close-too close.)
I guess I crossed a line with this one... Dan says they can wear the same colors, but not the same pattern. :) I'm alright with that!
